Eco Cardboard Contest: Urban Tree by Gerardo Belmonte

Winter’s on its way (boohooo), but don’t worry – we have a new design upload that’s here to help store your brand new outerwear collection. The Urban Tree, designed by Gerardo Belmonte exclusively for the Groopti Eco Cardboard Contest, is a minimal style coat stand that’s ecofriendly and 100% recyclable after use. It’s composed of two different groups of cardboard pieces – 6 legs and 4 rings. The Urban Tree’s ease of assembly is apparent – there are no screws or nails, just cardboard pieces that fit flawlessly into one another.

We dig this simple but creative take on the coat stand. Switching up the colors of the rings would add a playful and more modern vibe to the design and a little pizazz to any room. For strength and stability purposes, thicker corrugated cardboard should be used.
